Welcome to the spicier end of our lineup! We’ve paired fermented ghost peppers with the lemon flavors of Maqaw peppercorns, an indigenous mountain berry that’s wild harvested in Taitung County, Taiwan. We’ve also added locally grown grapefruit to dial up the citrus punch, and then balanced it with the sweetness of caramelized sweet potatoes.

Our Story
We’re Jane and Denner, two people who left their laptops behind in New York to pursue life in Taiwan. As we roamed our neighborhood wet markets (菜市場), tasting fresh fruits and getting to know local vendors and farmers, we fell in love with the wealth of fresh produce available in Taiwan and quickly became inspired to do more with it.
Empress Hot Sauce is our way of sharing our story of Taiwan—full of fresh fruits, flavors, and deep connections with the people who grow the food we eat .
